Update: IDs Released For Victims Of Doubly Fatal Hopkinton Fire, DA Says

The identities of the married couple who died in a two fire-alarm have been released by officials, who have also ruled the fire not suspicious.

Seldon MacNeill and Judith MacNeill both died because of the fire broke out at their home on Hayward Street in Hopkinton around 1:10 a.m. on Sunday, April 9, according to the Hopkinton Fire Department and the Middlesex District Attorney's Office.

Firefighters found 61-year-old Seldon in the hallway. He and his wife, 68-year-old Judith, who was found in a bedroom, were both transported to Milford Regional Medical Center where the husband was pronounced dead.

The wife was later transported to a Boston hospital, where she succumbed to her injuries two days after the death of her husband, according to the Department of Fire Services.

A dog also died in the blaze.

Seven people in Massachusetts have died in house fires where there were no working smoke alarms in the last two weeks, according to the Department of Fire Services. All of the victims were more than 60 years old.

"Every household should have working smoke alarms on every level of the home, but seniors face the greatest risk of death or serious injury in a fire," said a statement from the Department of Fire Services. "Please check in on older friends and relatives to see if they need assistance installing, maintaining, or replacing smoke alarms in their homes."

The cause of the fire is still under investigation.
